T-29 Days: Actual, Straightforward Day

Thursday, May 2

Physics: Geiger counter lab. We count clicks for ten second intervals and see that they go up and down each trial, but overall there’s no time decrease in the three minutes we’re listening.

Honors Physics: Flying pig lab, straight off the PTSOS resource website. I also added the challenge of not letting them use a balance or a scale to find the mass or weight of the pig. They’ve got to figure out two independent ways of taking measurements that could be used to find the mass with only a stopwatch and a meter stick. I don’t have any stands or hangars to put them on, so the first part of the lab was all of their attempts to solve the problem of hanging up the pig.

AP Physics: Prep for tomorrow’s FR portion of the final exam.
